In the name of the mp3’s, and of the movies, and of the latest season of Dexter and Supernatural, I make Amends.

Bless me legal multimedia authorities, local and foreign producers, event promoters and all of my favorite movies and musical artists; for I have sinned. My last contact with my torrent sites of choice was moments ago… In fact, I still have the download active… I consider myself a good Samaritan- sharing and seeding, trying to no avail to upload as much as I download. In the hopes of helping out my fellow download-dependents and of giving just as much as I receive.

This unhealthy addiction started a long time ago, even before the time of Youtube. Back when I was all alone and there was nowhere else to turn to but the net. It began with innocent things such as going through the official websites of almost all my favorite bands- just so I could have a listen at their latest records and since the local radio stations could not always satisfy my search for something new I tuned in to online radio stations a well. After that, I advanced to watching music videos and movie trailers wherever I can find them… Yahoo videos, Google videos, Apple trailers- all of which are legal sites, so far.

On a forgettable day in June… on a year long forgotten, somebody whispered to me about this glorious site and the downloadable computer application that would allow me to get a copy of all the movies I ever want to find, all the albums I’ve been dying to have (even those not sold here) and even catch up with the latest episodes of my favorite foreign TV series. Heck, I even have copies of the TV adverts I have come to like.
One click and I was hooked.

The search bar of that first torrent site was just like heaven to me; sometimes I was even too overwhelmed to remember which titles or artists to look for. I was ecstatic about the fact that I could watch anything being shown in any part of the world, as long as a kind soul uploads it for me.

I could go on talking about this addiction but I know it would only fire me up, all I want is absolution. Tell what I have to p(r)ay to the financial powers that be, so I could be done with this- and back to my downloads.
